PAK-D05 · Diploma
Diploma in Railway Manufacturing, Welding & Quality
2 Academic Years · 4 semesters. The current curriculum architecture focuses on manufacturing, welding, fabrication, inspection, quality assurance and production control.
Programme overview
A structured railway-learning pathway
PAK-D05 prepares manufacturing technicians, welding/fabrication technicians, production-quality personnel, inspectors and junior manufacturing professionals for railway workshops and supply-chain environments. The programme combines materials science, manufacturing technology, welding metallurgy, fabrication, dimensional metrology, NDT, quality assurance, process control, production planning, traceability and railway-specific manufacturing awareness.
Students progress from materials, drawing, metrology and safe workshop fundamentals in Semester 1; through machining, forming, welding, fabrication, quality and NDT fundamentals in Semester 2; into railway welding, advanced process control, weld inspection, railway-component manufacturing and formal QA/QC systems in Semester 3; and finally into advanced fabrication/repair, production engineering, audits, digital quality and industry application in Semester 4.
This diploma provides academic and practical preparation but does not itself replace personnel qualification/certification, welding coordination authorization, NDT certification, production certification, manufacturer approval or railway conformity requirements.
Academic orientation
Railway manufacturing, welding/fabrication, metallurgy, metrology, inspection, NDT, production quality, process control and traceability
PAK separates academic learning from statutory or employer authorization. Completion of academic study does not by itself confer authority to perform licensed, certified or safety-critical railway duties.

Curriculum
Progress from prerequisites into programme-specific technical depth.
The governed curriculum defines module or semester sequencing, prerequisites and technical scope. Programme pages present that structure without inventing credits, contact hours, assessment weights or regulatory claims that have not yet been approved.

Practical learning
Connect engineering concepts with components, systems and controlled exercises.
Practical activity may include workshop demonstrations, laboratories, simulations, component identification, measurement or case-study work where appropriate to the programme.
Academic practical learning supports understanding and judgement; it does not independently authorize safety-critical work.

Workshop & laboratory
Study railway systems in an environment that makes interfaces visible.
Rolling stock, mechanical, electrical, control, manufacturing and operations pathways use different practical contexts, but all retain the same principle: system understanding before unsupported competence claims.

Career pathways
Build knowledge relevant to railway technical and professional environments.
Career-pathway information is descriptive, not a placement guarantee. Roles, employer requirements, certifications and statutory competence remain dependent on the jurisdiction, employer and specific railway function.
