PAK-B01 · Advanced Diploma

Advanced Diploma Railway Engineering

3 Years · 6 semesters. The current curriculum architecture focuses on multidisciplinary railway systems engineering across infrastructure, rolling stock, energy, signalling, operations, RAMS and lifecycle engineering.

Programme overview

A structured railway-learning pathway

PAK-B01 is the broad multidisciplinary engineering spine of the PAK Advanced Diploma portfolio. It develops integrated engineering understanding across railway infrastructure, rolling stock, traction and energy, signalling and control, operations, safety/RAMS, digital systems, asset management, project/lifecycle engineering and professional practice.

The programme is deliberately positioned above the applied Diploma layer. Diploma programmes emphasize technician and junior-engineering competence, maintenance practice, inspection, workshop activity, controlled diagnostics and applied operations. B01 adds higher engineering science, quantitative analysis, modelling and simulation, design reasoning, subsystem/interface engineering, RAMS and lifecycle trade-offs, optimization, research methods, multidisciplinary design projects and a final capstone/thesis.

B01 is not intended to replace the specialist Advanced Diploma programmes. It provides the common systems-oriented engineering spine while B02–B05 retain deeper specialization value.

Academic orientation

Multidisciplinary railway systems engineering across infrastructure, rolling stock, traction/electrical systems, signalling/control, operations, safety/RAMS, digital railway, asset management and lifecycle engineering

PAK separates academic learning from statutory or employer authorization. Completion of academic study does not by itself confer authority to perform licensed, certified or safety-critical railway duties.

Advanced Diploma status: this page describes a PAK Advanced Diploma curriculum architecture. It must not be interpreted as a claim of a recognized Polish degree or as statutory, professional or safety-critical authorization.

Railway curriculum and structured technical learning

Curriculum

Progress from prerequisites into programme-specific technical depth.

The governed curriculum defines module or semester sequencing, prerequisites and technical scope. Programme pages present that structure without inventing credits, contact hours, assessment weights or regulatory claims that have not yet been approved.

Hands-on railway practical training

Practical learning

Connect engineering concepts with components, systems and controlled exercises.

Practical activity may include workshop demonstrations, laboratories, simulations, component identification, measurement or case-study work where appropriate to the programme.

Academic practical learning supports understanding and judgement; it does not independently authorize safety-critical work.

Railway workshop and laboratory environment

Workshop & laboratory

Study railway systems in an environment that makes interfaces visible.

Rolling stock, mechanical, electrical, control, manufacturing and operations pathways use different practical contexts, but all retain the same principle: system understanding before unsupported competence claims.

Railway engineering career pathways

Career pathways

Build knowledge relevant to railway technical and professional environments.

Career-pathway information is descriptive, not a placement guarantee. Roles, employer requirements, certifications and statutory competence remain dependent on the jurisdiction, employer and specific railway function.
